About You

This is a key leadership role at Birmingham City Council, offering the opportunity to shape fair and consistent pay outcomes for a diverse and dedicated workforce. As Job Evaluation SME, you will oversee the delivery of job evaluations, moderation and appeals, ensuring alignment with employment legislation, local government terms and conditions, and our commitment to equal pay.

You will lead a team of job analysts and assistants, applying your expertise in HR, job evaluation frameworks, and employment practices to deliver accurate and robust outcomes. Acting as a senior job analyst, you'll coach others, provide professional advice to stakeholders, and produce strategic reports that inform pay-related decisions. This role is ideal for someone with experience in team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and working in complex or unionised environments, who is passionate about fairness, transparency, and organisational improvement
