We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Pharmacy Technician with a strong background in hospital pharmacy to join our supportive Pharmacy Team. This evolving role provides the opportunity for professional growth, with the backing of highly skilled colleagues.

In this position, you will play a critical role in delivering an efficient and comprehensive stores distribution service to the Trust, ensuring compliance with all legal and departmental standards, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), MHRA Rules for Pharmaceutical Distributors, COSHH regulations, Lifting and Handling guidelines, and Trust Policies and Procedures.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in pharmacy procurement, excellent communication abilities, strong initiative, and the capacity to work accurately under tight deadlines. Experience in change management, audit processes, and data analysis is highly desirable, along with proficiency in IT systems, particularly CMM and Excel.

The post holder will manage key responsibilities centred on the efficient distribution, storage, and management of pharmaceutical products within Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. Key duties include:

Pharmaceutical Product Management: Oversee the storage and distribution of pharmaceutical products to ensure safe and appropriate use.

Staff Training & Induction: Participate in staff training, ensuring new members are well-prepared for their roles.

Medicine Distribution Co-ordination: Co-ordinate the distribution of medicines from the centralised store to wards, departments, and external customers for timely delivery.

Pharmacy Top-up Service: Oversee the pharmacy top-up service, maintaining stock levels in wards and departments.

Productive Ward Service: Deliver an efficient ward service to reduce waste and improve overall efficiency.

Occasional Procurement: Assist with medicine procurement, ensuring supplies meet clinical and regulatory standards.

Stock Investigation & Documentation: Investigate stock issues and maintain regulatory documentation for compliance.

The post holder will need strong organisational and communication skills, along with a commitment to enhancing pharmaceutical services efficiency.
