<div><h2>Backend Developer</h2><p>GovCIO is currently hiring a Backend Developer to manage a sustainment and enhancement project. This position will be full-time and fully remote within the United States. The contract has not been awarded; this position remains unfunded and is contingent upon the award of the contract.</p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Manages backend development for legacy modernization, sustainment, and enhancement for VA.gov.</li><li>Assists with development planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards.</li><li>Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.</li><li>Work alongside a team of front end and back-end developers in a multi-project environment.</li><li>Maintain high standards of excellence within the team by establishing good practices and habits.</li><li>Work to diagnose and correct data discrepancies to ensure accuracy.</li><li>Work to add new features and maintain integrity of existing features within assigned VA.gov tools.</li><li>Assist in the collection and documentation of user\'s requirements, development of user stories, estimates and work plans.</li><li>Assist BA team in preparing reports, manuals, operational procedures and other documentation on the status, operation, and maintenance of the project.</li><li>Integrate with all necessary applications, working alongside those system development team.</li><li>Proactively communicate and coordinate with various internal and external project stakeholders.</li><li>Analyzes detailed system factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and alternative methods of problem resolution.</li><li>Participates in code reviews and Sprint Reviews to represent reviewed work for adherence to contract deliverables and program specifications.</li></ul><p>Qualifications:</p><p>Required Skills and Experience:</p><ul><li>Bachelor\'s with 8+ years (or commensurate experience)</li><li>Experience with Tech Stack Development</li><li>Experience working with databases</li><li>Experience working with GitHub</li><li>Analytical and investigation skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision.</li><li>Experience with Agile Methodology and Scrum Processes.</li><li>Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in a remote work environment.</li><li>Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US.</li></ul><p>Preferred Skills and Experience:</p><ul><li>Experience with VA and/or other Federal Agencies.</li><li>Understanding of the VA Veteran-Focused Integration Process (VIP) project management methodology.</li><li>Knowledge and experience working in a Scrum/Agile environment</li><li>Experience with Jira and Confluence</li><li>Experience working within the VA.gov platform, alongside OCTO</li></ul><p>Clearance Required:</p><p>Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust #CCSS</p><p>Company Overview:</p><p>GovCIO is a team of transformers--people who are passionate about transforming government IT.
