Job Summary

Supports strategic sales engagements, drives thought leadership in a cross functional manner, and supports the global sales strategy of Equinix to drive revenue in an assigned territory. The role is responsible for providing technology and solution-based thought leadership, bridging the network, data centre and Cloud/IT infrastructure into repeatable offers. Key focus areas include, but are not limited to, strategic sales engagements, development of offers, repeatable solutions, and use cases, focused on the five sales verticals within the Equinix Ecosystem (Network, Financial, Cloud, Content/Digital Media, and Enterprise).

Responsibilities
Strategic Sales Support

  • Provides advanced technology solutioning support to Equinix global field, channel, GAM and Alliances sales

  • Develops the account technology strategy (application of Equinix IOA) with Equinix Account Executives

  • Prepares and conducts Customer workshops

  • Prepares and delivers of Customer presentations

  • Develops peer relationships with customers at a Director / Senior Director Level

  • Demonstrates Equinix values through the provision of credible and convincing reasoning through compelling solutions to have a customer choose Equinix


Research and Development

  • Keeps up-to-date with the state of the art by utilizing the GSE Solution Development Framework

  • Manages collaboration on research of relevant technology trends

  • Analyses technology impacts

  • Recommends to stakeholders based upon research finds

  • Supports and manages the framework to implement new technologies, standards, processes, tools and techniques


Subject Matter Expertise

  • Performs as an expert in the field

  • Contributes to training, reading, research, collaboration and provides subject matter expertise at industry events for the benefit of peers


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Interfaces with fellow stakeholders in the products and solutions lifecycle such as in the EQUINIX CIO, CTO, CMO and CSO organizations on technology and service initiatives, new product introductions, technology roadmap, and commercial concerns


Technology and Innovation Insights

  • Is perceived as a peer expert within the GSE team

  • Provides technical subject matter expertise to Sales, Marketing and the Industry by creating, developing and delivering content for proposals, marketing studies and marketing events

  • Briefs Sales teams on the impact of new technology

  • Provides technical subject matter expertise to aid in the training and enablement of high-potential channel partners

  • Briefs Sales teams on the features, restrictions and selling points of new Equinix products and offers


Solution Development

  • Proactively identifies and analyzes opportunities and problems within customer context, business plans, technological statuses, and strategic direction

  • Proactively identifies and develops solutions in technology, processes, organizational, impact, commercials, and implementation plans

  • Develops solution benefits and business cases for change

  • Shares findings in customer presentations

Qualifications

  • 15+ Years in the functional domains of Network, Datacentre, Enterprise IT Systems, including Enterprise Architecture and Technical Architecture implementation preferred

  • 7+ Years of Solutions Selling in a commercial pre-sales position preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline preferred

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline preferred

  • Advanced industry certifications (i.e. Cisco, VMware, MS, AWS), TOGAF (v9 Part 1 and Part 2), ITIL 3.0, or CCIE-Written certification preferred

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - Redwood City Office GHQ : 262,000 - 394,000 USD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects On-Target Earnings or OTE, which is base pay plus commissions, and does not include equity or benefits. Equity may be offered depending on the position.
