Demonstrates how investments in early-stage companies can assist Northwestern Mutual in achieving its multi-year strategy. Uses a broad understanding of the company’s strategic objectives, a strong network both internally and externally and an understanding of the evolving startup landscape. Sources high quality investment opportunities and will diligence and close investments and manage portfolio companies’ post-investment.</p> <h3></h3> <h3><b>HOW YOU WILL DO IT:</b></h3> <ul> <li> Manages and continues to develop a deep external network of venture capital firms, accelerators and other sources of new deal flow. Engaged with external partners to remain top of mind for new investment opportunities.</li> <li> Completes diligence and legal review of potential investments in coordination with Law and other stakeholders.</li> <li> Maintains regular engagement with portfolio companies’ post-investment to support them in key strategic decision making and future fundraising efforts.</li> <li> Facilitates introduction of portfolio companies to appropriate areas of Northwestern Mutual to cultivate partnerships that can advance strategic priorities.</li> <li> Supports portfolio companies by serving in board observer role and possible board of directors’ role where appropriate.</li> <li> Works with senior level internal partners to continuously identify emerging trends and areas that Strategic Investing team should be focused on.</li> <li> Represents Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures externally by serving as a leader with vision at industry conferences and other startup events.</li> </ul> <h3></h3> <h3><b>BRING YOUR BEST! WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:</b></h3> <ul> <li> Bachelor’s degree from a leading undergraduate institution.
