Tour Operations (China Inbound)

Job Summary:

To grow the China market by securing new business opportunities across FITs, leisure groups, and MICE segments. This role handles inbound inquiries, prepares quotations, coordinates bookings with suppliers, and ensures smooth tour fulfillment. The position also supports product development, manages client feedback, and works towards achieving sales targets and healthy profit margins.

Job Scope:

1. Business Development & Sales
  • Develop and secure new business opportunities from the China market across FITs, leisure groups, and MICE segments.
  • Promote and sell travel packages, tours, and services to B2B clients.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets and contribute to overall company revenue and growth.
  • Support Destination Management business expansion initiatives.
2. Handling Inquiries, Quotations & Confirmations Groups
  • Handle all FIT and group travel requests by preparing quotations, coordinating logistics, managing end-to-end bookings, and responding promptly to client inquiries.
  • Manage quotation requests accurately and promptly.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to ensure all confirmed bookings are fulfilled as quoted.
3. Fulfillment & Operational Coordination
  • Organize and oversee all aspects of tour fulfillment once a quotation is confirmed, for both FITs and leisure groups.
  • Work closely with suppliers, product development, reservations, and other internal teams to ensure seamless end-to-end customer experience.
4. Supplier Management & Product Development
  • Collaborate with the product development team to source and enhance travel products, expanding the Destination Management product range.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of existing suppliers and evaluate opportunities to source better or more competitive suppliers.
5. Service Recovery & Client Feedback
  • Manage service recovery efforts and handle client feedback from overseas B2B partners.
  • Ensure all tours and services are delivered with satisfactory quality and follow up with suppliers to resolve any issues.
6. Profitability & Margin Improvement
  • Work towards improving profitability and achieving healthy margins.
  • Support initiatives to grow high-yield group segments
Job Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 -8 years of experience handling FIT, GIT, and MICE group operations, including quotations, bookings, and tour fulfillment.
  • Experience in leisure group management is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with China inbound market trends and B2B business practices is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
  • Proficient in tour planning and reservation systems, with the ability to learn new tools quickly.
  • Strong background in China inbound operations, including quotations, logistics coordination, and booking management.
  • Excellent communication skills in Mandarin and English (written and spoken).
  • Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities.
  • Good negotiation skills when dealing with suppliers and partners.
  • Customer-focused with strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage service recovery situations
