Job Summary

The Technician is responsible for ensuring all store equipment, machinery, and facilities are maintained in good working condition to support smooth daily store operations. The role includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair work, and ensuring safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance for store equipment and facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues.
  • Ensure refrigeration, air-conditioning, lighting, and electrical systems are functioning properly.
  • Conduct routine inspections on equipment and report abnormalities.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency maintenance issues.
  • Monitor contractor work and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain proper maintenance records and service reports.
  • Ensure workplace safety and compliance with company SOPs.
  • Support store operations during festive or peak seasons when required.
  • Liaise with store management on maintenance-related matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum Technical Certificate / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.
  • Experience in maintenance, electrical, or technical support is an added advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical wiring, air-conditioning, refrigeration, and building maintenance.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Willing to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays if required.
  • Physically fit and able to perform hands-on technical work.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge in preventive maintenance systems.
  • Experience in retail or supermarket environment.
  • Possess wiring or technical certification is an advantage.
