Student Worker - Strategic Comms Intern (Summer/Fall 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Communications Intern is responsible for assisting and working with the Communications staff in order to better assist guests, alumni, and those we serve. As well as, assist with communication duties such as event planning, social media, and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (include the following, other duties may be assigned)

  • Responsible for daily office operations, including the answering and checking of: phone, voice mail, email, & social network platforms. Answering questions and referring people to appropriate offices/persons in different areas of the university.
  • Basic data entry of alumni and their constituents into CRM (currently Jenzabar).
  • Photographing, editing, and exporting digital material of University events and other meetings, as determined by the University calendar and departments across campus.
  • Attend University-sponsored events to gain photos to use for social media, magazines, etc. that need to be created for promotional use.
  • Carry out production duties for the creation of original Media Center content, such as setting up backdrops and lighting, operating HD and DSLR cameras, and editing photos.
  • Assisting with the post-production process, such as editing, exporting, and archiving.
  • Content production for social media platforms.
  • Social media content creation, such as graphic design work and copywriting.
  • Other Communications duties, as assigned.
