Job Summary

Designs, develops, and supports NCHS websites and distributed software applications and systems. Implements new features while ensuring long term stability of our system and quality of the code. Functions at an advanced level in multiple programming languages, platforms, and frameworks. Participates in developing recommendations for complex projects of diverse scope. Participates in basic project management functions. Provides technical direction and guidance to consultants, clients, and other team members. Collaborates with other developers, testers, stakeholders and subject-matter experts to establish the best solution for the business need and requirements.

Job Specific Duties

  • Designs, develops, and maintains NCHS web application systems. Encodes, tests, debugs, installs, and maintains supported applications.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains NCHS web content using content management tools or desktop publishing apps.
  • Responsible for networking technologies including security and encryption, as well as other basic networking concepts.
  • Ensures all codes developed and deployed are bug free and meet the functional specification of the client.
  • Communicates project progress to clients in a timely and effective manner. Serves as primary point of contact and resolves client issues as needed.
  • Ensures departmental procedures are followed and that all work is documented per IT standards.
  • Works with internal and external team members in order to accomplish goals and finalize projects.
  • Provides technical direction and guidance to consultants, clients, and other team members.
  • Advises and recommends future website development direction by keeping up to date with current Internet trends and technologies.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences/Information Systems/related major or at least 4 years of experience in Information Technology in a technical role
  • 4-7 years of experience in Information Systems development, implementation, and support

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and quality
  • Familiarity with building quality code and deploying apps to production environments
  • Familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with full life cycle software development
  • Proficient in technical documentation skills
  • Proficient in time management skills
  • Advanced skills in one or more of the following: HTML, JavaScript, .NET, React, Angular, C#, MVC, Git, JQuery, Bootstrap, Visual Studio
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and coding standards
  • Proficiency in one or more languages, platforms, or frameworks
  • Proficiency in SQL, data querying languages, LINQ, Entity Framework, and optimizing database transactions
  • Knowledge of data and API technologies: XML, JSON, Web API, REST, AuthN, tokens
  • Strong knowledge of OOP and Design Patterns
  • Working knowledge of networking technologies, including security and encryption on the Internet, and basic networking concepts
  • Working knowledge of user interface design
  • Working knowledge of Cloud platforms: AWS or Azure
