Social Media Intern – NGO Awareness Campaign

Job Summary

ChangeMakers Nigeria is seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Intern to join our team and support our NGO awareness campaigns. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful social impact initiatives while gaining hands-on experience in digital communications and social media management. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and execution of social media strategies to promote ChangeMakers Nigeria’s campaigns.
  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments/messages, and engage with online communities.
  • Conduct research on trends, hashtags, and competitors to optimize content performance.
  • Support the design and production of visual content, including graphics, videos, and infographics.
  • Assist in preparing reports on social media analytics and campaign performance.
  • Collaborate with the communications and outreach team to align social media initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas for awareness campaigns.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, tools, and trends.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design and video editing tools (Canva, Adobe Spark, CapCut, or similar).
  • Creative mindset with attention to detail and ability to adapt content for different platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for social causes and commitment to promoting positive change.

Experience

  • Previous experience managing social media accounts for school clubs, NGOs, or personal projects is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools is a plus.

Working Hours

  • Flexible working hours; primarily remote work with occasional in-person meetings if required.
  • Expected commitment: 20–25 hours per week.
