About The RoleThe Chicago Bears are looking for a curious, quantitative minded individual who wants to grow their career in the football industry by using data to help drive decisions. The ideal candidate is highly driven and has outstanding quantitative skills and passion for football. This is a paid position beginning at the start of training camp (July 2026) through the NFL Draft (April 2027). This role will work in-person at Halas Hall in Lake Forest, IL.

Responsibilities* Develop techniques to identify, extract and analyze data to support Football Operations decisions including Player Personnel, Coaching, Salary Cap, Sports Science, Strength & Conditioning.

  • Advocate for the use of data in driving Football Operations decisions.
  • Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing data from various sources to prepare for analysis and modeling.
  • Support the development and evaluation of machine learning models, data visualizations, and statistical analyses.
  • Help create documentation and reports summarizing methodologies, findings, and recommendations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to providing administrative support, contributing to team discussions, and assisting with cross-functional projects.

Qualifications* Recently completed a degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Economics, etc.).

  • Strong Programming skills in Python and/or R (Python preferred).
  • Ability to successfully design and implement statistical and machine learning models.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and writing SQL queries.
  • Ability to create high-quality data visualizations to support models and analyses.
  • Problem solving and communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Independent judgment and the ability to multitask are required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload.
  • Takes initiative, is adaptable, and can work as a part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Able to work nontraditional hours in nontraditional settings. Including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Extensive knowledge and high level of passion for football.

COMPETITIVE INDUSTRY PAYThe Seasonal - Football Analytics is a full-time temporary position. This position is non-exempt (hourly) and the expected hourly rate for this is role is $24 - $26/per hour. Please note, due to job function, regular over-time (paid as time-and-a-half) is expected.
