Registered Nurse (RN) - Per Diem PRN - $50.04 per hour

RN responsibilities:

Although work duties can vary depending on the setting and specialty, your responsibilities may include the following.

  • Collect information and assess a patient's condition by taking vital signs and medical history, performing physical examinations and observations, and analyzing laboratory and diagnostic tests
  • Monitor, record, and report patient responses and any changes in condition using Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop, implement, and coordinate patient care plans
  • Supervise licensed practical/vocational nurses, nurse assistants, and other support staff as needed
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and other treatments as prescribed
  • Perform clinical procedures including wound care, specimen collection, and emergency response protocols
  • Prepare shift handoff reports using SBAR or facility-specific tools to ensure continuity of care
  • Advocate for the best interests of the patient and serve as a communicator between the patient and the healthcare team
  • Educate patients and family members about health promotion, disease prevention, treatment procedures, and self-care management, and offer emotional support
  • Safeguard protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA regulations and maintain strict infection control standards using proper PPE
  • Document and report safety events and ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility-mandated procedures

RN qualifications:

RNs maintain professional excellence by meeting the following qualifications and standards:

  • Current and valid RN license
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Recent nursing experience preferred; 2–3 years preferred for high-acuity settings such as ICU, ER, or Med-Surg
  • Knowledge of nursing procedures and protocols
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to provide compassionate and reliable care while adapting quickly to different facility environments
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts with prolonged standing and safe patient handling
