Our focus is to ensure individuals are never surprised by what data we collect, process, and share and that we delight regulators with the quality, transparency, and accuracy of our privacy documentation. Everything we do is based on this focus. This leader acts as a privacy and AI subject matter expert and works with business, legal, and technology stakeholders to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and transparency of privacy documentation.<br><br>Key job responsibilities<br><br>Identify, draft, and maintain Records of Processing (RoPs/ROPAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)<br><br>Assist with managing the privacy documentation program at scale<br><br>Automating and operationalizing privacy processes<br><br>Analyzing and developing metrics to measure and improve the documentation team program<br><br>Apply global privacy, AI, and operational expertise to Ops to embed a consistent customer experience<br><br>Work with internal stakeholders across Ops and Legal to ensure privacy is considered in projects and decisions<br><br>Maintain a strong understanding of privacy and AI regulatory and industry developments<br><br>Perform operational deep dives on business processes and systems and identify privacy and AI risks and mitigating measures<br><br>Prepare supporting internal documentation such as executive reports, standard operating procedures, and FAQs<br><br>Manage several projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency<br><br>Comfortable dealing with ambiguity<br><br><strong>Basic Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> Bachelor's degree</li><li> 3+ years in privacy</li><li> Experience developing and maintaining privacy documentation and processes, including RoPs/ROPAs, DPIAs, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs), and/or data mapping</li><li> Former role in privacy or security with knowledge of regulatory and industry requirements and standards</li><li> 1+ years leading projects with tight deadlines that involve the use of automated and manual systems and supporting internal customers across the globe</li><li> Proven knowledge of global privacy regulations and pending legislation (GDPR, CPRA, DMA, EU AI Act, LGPD, PIPL, etc.) and applying them in a complex environment<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> Experience working on multi-team, cross-disciplinary projects</li><li> Experience communicating complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences</li><li> Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements</li><li> Experience working independently with minimal supervision</li><li> Advanced degree (Juris Doctor)</li><li> Holds one or more privacy certifications (CIPP/US, CIPP/E, AIGP, CIPM, etc.)</li><li> Excellent written and verbal communication skills<br><br></li></ul>Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.<br><br>Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
