We are looking for an enthusiastic Purchasing Co-Ordinator to join our team specializing in Purchasing for our Accelera Business Segment in UK, Cwmbran. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence in Summer of 2026 .

Accelera is part of the global Cummins group which encompasses all the eMobility business activities. It is a dynamic, fast-moving business environment delivering new products to meet a rapidly evolving market demand. The requirements are to be fully onsite with some flexibility to work from home on Friday or relocate to the location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Purchasing assigned items and executes buying strategies set out by the function at optimum cost and lead times.
  • Focus on Project management skills, supporting the team to deliver to the VPI project timeline and mitigate risk/delays where applicable. Monitors and communicates project status to project team.
  • Support lessons learnt improvements from previous projects
  • Logistics support as and when on VPI Projects & expediates orders to ensure that they are delivered on time in full
  • Involvement both supporting and leading various projects from conception to closure within cost and on time delivery, understand and adhere to policies and procedures and champion the VPI purchasing common processes.
  • Procures inventory, supplies and capital goods, obtains quotations and raises orders on vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Studying for a Degree in Business Management, Project Management, Procurement or Supply Chain/Logistics
  • Strong Organizational Skills and Self-Motivated
  • A willingness to challenge processes and designs as experience develops, demonstrates working to committed deadlines.
  • Good MS package experience and a structured approach to problem solving and of project management, combined with the ability to manage concurrent projects and deal with various priorities.
