Part Time NGO Field Assistant

Job Summary

ReliefWorks Nigeria is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time NGO Field Assistant to support the implementation and monitoring of our community development projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with field officers and program managers to ensure the successful execution of initiatives that empower vulnerable communities. This role provides hands-on experience in humanitarian work and community engagement while contributing directly to the organization’s mission.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and implementing community outreach and development programs.
  • Collect, verify, and report data from field activities for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
  • Support local teams in coordinating events, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records of beneficiaries, project activities, and field observations.
  • Help identify community needs and provide feedback to program managers for strategic planning.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational guidelines and local regulations during field operations.
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and documentation for stakeholders.
  • Foster positive relationships with community members, partners, and volunteers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, or related field is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in field settings.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data collection tools.
  • Knowledge of community development practices and NGO operations is a plus.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and committed to the organization’s mission.

Experience

  • Prior experience in fieldwork, community outreach, or volunteer work with NGOs or development projects is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in data collection, reporting, or project support will be an added advantage.

Working Hours

  • Part-time position with flexible hours, typically 15–20 hours per week.
  • Field visits and occasional weekend engagement may be required based on project needs.
