Media Manager, Amazon Brand Marketing, Amazon’s XCM (Cross Channel, Cross Category Marketing)

DESCRIPTION

Amazon’s XCM (Cross Channel, Cross Category Marketing) organization is looking for a highly-motivated Paid Media Manager to drive the media approach and investment strategies and own end-to-end media campaign management for Amazon’s Retail brand marketing initiatives. This role will develop and manage consumer-facing campaigns that drive brand love with core audiences and growth opportunities. This marketer is able to think big while remaining deeply analytical, naturally curious, and capable of juggling multiple projects to drive innovative and effective plans. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for bar-raising media planning, strong bias for action, and the ability to dive deep into the details. They are a self-starter, resourceful, and find creative solutions to complex challenges.

Working with media agencies and internal teams, you will apply a data-driven approach to determine and optimize channel mix for priority audiences based on business objectives and performance data. You will ensure high standards across media planning and implementation while coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including campaign program managers, marketing teams, measurement partners, and creative and content teams. As an integrated media professional, you will demonstrate strong results orientation, help develop roadmaps and goal tracking, and have experience working with industry partners and social platforms. You will combine skills as a strategist, project manager, and analyst to implement media best practices and support campaign optimization. Strong relationship building skills are essential as you'll work closely with various stakeholders across lines of business.

This role will report into the Head of Media, and will be an individual contributor at this time.

Key job responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end cross-channel media planning and execution for specific campaigns, managing external media agency and internal activation teams to translate business objectives into media campaign strategies
  • Partner closely with internal Retail stakeholders on the broader marketing campaign strategy as the paid media expert
  • Drive real-time campaign optimizations based on key KPIs and compile regular reporting from multiple sources
  • Develop comprehensive campaign wrap reports with strategic and actionable insights
  • Advise leadership and stakeholders on the reasoning behind decisions and recommendations
  • Leverage expertise to own projects outside of day to day campaign work that impact the media team and broader XCM org
  • Navigate a highly-matrixed organization and represent team with integrity and self-sufficiency
  • Partner with other Amazon media managers to leverage overall investment decisions and insights across the team in the most audience-driven expression possible
  • Contribute insights to advertising portfolio strategy and investment models

About the team
The central XCM org runs the largest and most performative mass marketing portfolio of investments in Amazon's biggest priority brands and businesses, from Prime Day to Super Bowl. We are a small but mighty team of 200+ strategic and creative business leaders who make and deliver our customers most loved marketing campaigns for North America and the world.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
  • In-depth knowledge of cross-channel media strategy and experience leading complex business at an agency or or in-house with a large advertiser
  • Experience building and optimizing multiple, simultaneous marketing campaigns
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience using industry media planning such as Nielsen, Kantar, Comscore, etc.
  • Experience managing or working within cross-functional marketing and creative teams
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in audience segmentation and targeting
  • Deep knowledge in auction-based media like programmatic and paid social

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
