Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Server Administrator with strong hands-on expertise in VMware virtualization, backup management, high availability (HA), enterprise networking, and secure remote server environments. The role is responsible for ensuring maximum system uptime, data protection, cybersecurity compliance, and controlled access to organizational systems.

The ideal candidate will manage a centralized remote server infrastructure where all company work and data are handled securely, ensuring employees access systems only through remote servers, with no data download or sharing on local machines, in line with internal IT and cybersecurity policies.

Key Responsibilities

Virtualization & Server Management

  • Administer and maintain VMware vSphere / ESXi / vCenter environments, including virtual machines, templates, clusters, and storage.
  • Implement, monitor, and manage High Availability (HA), vMotion, and DRS configurations.
  • Manage and maintain server hardware (Dell / HP / Lenovo), including provisioning, upgrades, and lifecycle management.

Remote Server & Data Security Operations

  • Design, implement, and manage secure remote server setups for all organizational work and data.
  • Ensure all employees access applications and data only through remote servers (RDP / VDI / VPN / Secure Access solutions).
  • Enforce strict data security controls to prevent:
  • Local data downloads
  • Data copying or sharing to local systems
  • Unauthorized access or data leakage
  • Implement and manage user access controls, session monitoring, and privilege management.

Backup, DR & Business Continuity

  • Oversee backup and disaster recovery operations using tools such as Veeam, Acronis, or Commvault.
  • Plan, test, and maintain DR strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Monitor backup success, perform restoration testing, and maintain DR documentation.

Operating Systems & Monitoring

  • Administer Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and/or Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) systems.
  • Perform patch management, system hardening, security updates, and performance optimization.
  • Monitor system health using tools such as Zabbix, Nagios, SolarWinds, or similar.

Networking & Infrastructure

  • Ensure network reliability and security by managing:
  • Firewalls, switches, VLANs, routing
  • DNS, DHCP, VPN, IP addressing
  • Collaborate with network teams to troubleshoot and optimize LAN/WAN environments.
  • Manage SAN/NAS/iSCSI storage environments.

Cyber Security & Compliance

  • Support office IT systems and cybersecurity compliance initiatives.
  • Implement security best practices including:
  • Endpoint restrictions
  • Network segmentation
  • Access logging and auditing
  • Compliance with internal IT and data security policies
  • Participate in incident response, conduct root-cause analysis, and recommend preventive measures.

Documentation & Support

  • Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, SOPs, and configuration records.
  • Support audits, compliance checks, and internal IT reviews.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders as needed.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere / ESXi / vCenter.
  • Expertise in Backup & Recovery solutions (Veeam, Acronis, Commvault).
  • Solid understanding of HA, DR, clustering, and business continuity concepts.
  • Experience in secure remote server environments and access control.
  • Good knowledge of LAN/WAN, VLANs, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, VPN, IP routing.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server and/or Linux system administration.
  • Familiarity with SAN, NAS, and storage technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Good communication and coordination abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent certification.
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server / Azure Administrator.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / VMware Cloud).
  • Exposure to security monitoring and system monitoring tools.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
