Overview Candidates should live within driving distance of one of the following areas: Wichita, KS; Lawton, OK; or Round Rock, TX. We are seeking a UI/UX Designer to lead the user experience and interface design of a mission-critical web- and mobile-based SaaS platform used in high-impact industries. This role requires expertise in both UI design and UX methodologies, ensuring a user-centered approach to product development. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio of web-based SaaS applications, experience with Figma and industry-standard design tools, and the ability to develop and maintain company-wide design libraries and standards. As the lead designer, you will collaborate closely with UX research leads, product managers, software engineers, sales teams, and end users across law enforcement, defense, and commercial industries to create intuitive and effective user experiences. You will help shape the product’s visual and interaction design while ensuring consistency, usability, and utility across the platform. This is a high-impact role for a creative problem-solver who is passionate about designing scalable, user-friendly digital experiences. Responsibilities Lead the UI/UX design for a web- and mobile-based SaaS platform, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience. Apply user-centered design (UCD) principles to develop intuitive workflows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs. Create and maintain a scalable design system and component library to ensure visual consistency across the platform. Support user research, incorporating insights from user interviews, field tests, and customer feedback to refine the user experience. Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, UX researchers, and other designers to translate business and user needs into elegant design solutions. Ensure that designs align with brand identity, design standards, and industry best practices. Create mockups in Figma and other tools to communicate design concepts to stakeholders. Proficiency in Figma and industry-standard design tools (Adobe XD, Sketch, etc.). Deep expertise in user-centered design (UCD), usability principles, and interaction design. Exceptional visual design skills, with a keen eye for typography, color, and layout. Demonstrated ability to create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs that align with business goals and user needs. Ability to conduct user research with both current and prospective end users as needed, to gather insights and inform design decisions. Experience developing and maintaining design systems, component libraries, and standards. Familiarity with responsive design and best practices for web and mobile applications. Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating with product managers, engineers, UX researchers, and business stakeholders. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance technical constraints and user needs. Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to articulate design decisions and rationale to stakeholders. Experience with Jira or similar task management tools for tracking design tasks and collaborating in a fast-paced agile development environment. Ability to work independently and take ownership of design initiatives. Comfortable working with development and design teams across time zones and continents. Comfortable working on both production level products and early-stage R&D projects.
