IT Support Engineer – Enterprise Monitoring (Data Centre Operations) | Abu Dhabi

We are hiring an IT Support Engineer to join a Data Centre Operations team supporting a leading UAE financial institution in Abu Dhabi. This is a hands on, junior to early career role focused on system monitoring, backup operations, and core banking support.

What you will do

  • Perform daily system monitoring across servers, hardware, applications, and key processes, including uptime checks and verification of scheduled jobs such as backups and DR replication
  • Execute daily backup operations, ensuring file systems and data are backed up correctly, recovery media is created, and media is recycled
  • Provide level 1 support across teams, investigating and troubleshooting issues as they arise
  • Monitor performance and capacity across IT systems, applications, and data centre components
  • Support core banking end of day activities and generate related reports
  • Respond to IT, data centre, and database alerts and hardware malfunctions
  • Track, document, and report incidents accurately

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in a similar IT support or data centre operations role
  • Working knowledge of servers (rack/blade), storage (SAN/NAS, backup and archive), and operating systems including Windows, Linux, and ideally AIX
  • Exposure to virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper V, or OpenShift) is an advantage
  • Banking, finance, or core banking systems exposure is a strong plus
  • Fluent in Arabic with a good command of English
  • UAE based or willing to relocate to Abu Dhabi
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work flexible hours, including shift coverage where required.
