Base pay range Direct message the job poster from Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government Head of Resourcing Strategy at Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government Job summary The Ministry for Housing and Communities and Local Government is leading within Government on the response to the Grenfell Tower fire. Our focus is on supporting the Grenfell community to recover from the fire and build a lasting legacy. The Grenfell Oversight, Litigation and Strategy Division (GOLS) is responsible for supporting the new stewardship operating model which has been informed by the lessons learned at the Grenfell Tower Inquiry and retains responsibility for leading the department’s engagement with the Grenfell Tower Inquiry and supporting the department’s policy response to ongoing civil litigation. The SEO Grenfell Inquiry Cross-Government Governance Secretariat will support MHCLG’s coordination of cross government oversight of, and reporting on, the implementation of the Inquiry’s recommendations. This is a key role that delivers on priorities for Ministers. We are looking for a candidate with some experience in delivering secretariat and reporting functions who is looking to bring their experience to a high profile and sensitive environment in order to make a tangible difference for the communities we serve. This is a sensitive and dynamic role, with significant opportunity for cross-government working and engagement with senior leaders and stakeholders. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): Managing the secretariat function for the Grenfell Inquiry Cross-Government Implementation Board and supporting with the coordination of oversight at ministerial level Overseeing the day-to-day project management and planning support that underpins the secretariat function Supporting with the production and publication of quarterly progress reports on recommendation implementation as needed Supporting and leading protocols for cross-team working to ensure joined-up working across the different Grenfell-related workstreams including engagement with the Grenfell community Preparing and coordinating advice for senior colleagues and ministers Working closely with policy teams in MHCLG, cross-government and external organisations to help them understand the impact which the Grenfell Inquiry may have on their policy areas. Effective stakeholder management skills and the ability to confidently build and maintain excellent relationships, including with external stakeholders. Previous experience in managing or supporting a secretariat function. High levels of personal resilience with the ability to exercise good judgement and work effectively under pressure. Ability to undertake work in a flexible and proactive manner in order to adapt to changing priorities. Ability to identify risks and resolve issues efficiently across a diverse range of colleagues, stakeholders, and delivery partners.
