The Event Operations Specialist will support and assist the Sr. Manager and Manager of Attraction Event Operations in scheduling, planning, facilitating, and executing events and conferences for Answers in Genesis: at the Creation Museum, Ark Encounter, Head Quarters, and the Answers Academy.

This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference. Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
  • Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.
  • Approach all tasks with a second mile mindset.
  • Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments.
  • Execute exceptional guest service & hospitality to all event guests and day guests of the Ark Encounter, Creation Museum, and Headquarters.
  • Serve as Event Operations Lead for assigned events, collaborating with internal and/or external event planners to ensure that Event Plans and supporting documents are created in a timely manner, are revised as needed and kept up-to-date, and that event information is communicated frequently to the appropriate Attraction Operations teams and individuals. Gather and clearly organize all details necessary to publish thorough and accurate Event Plans, providing pertinent information to all Operations and appropriate AiG departments.
  • Attend and participate in event planning and event operations meetings for Creation Museum (CM), Headquarters (HQ), and Ark Encounter (AE) events. Initiate and facilitate phone calls, emails, and planning meetings with Event Planner Clients.
  • Help maintain the Events and Event Operations calendars and assist with scheduling meeting rooms for all Legacy Hall and Moris Whitcomb (CM) Ark Encounter (AE). Maintain and keep organized OneNote files and SharePoint files. Successfully manage tasks and projects in Click Up.
  • Coordinate and communicate parking arrangements and secure and distribute appropriate credentials for speakers, artists, VIPs, and exhibitors.
  • Order and receive wayfinding and operational signage in Click-Up for all assigned events.
  • Develop a knowledge of all artists, speakers, and client contracts sufficient to execute contract requirements on time and as written.
  • Assist the Manager of Attraction Event Operations in developing seating plans and coordination for ticketed and large-scale events.
  • Serve as Event Producer, Front-of-House Lead, and/or Back-of-House lead as assigned.
  • Schedule post-event recap meetings, and ensure suggested improvements are noted for future events.
  • Proofread & Approve the Daily Schedules at the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter ensuring that they are accurate and facilitate changes/corrections, as necessary.
  • And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church.
  • Available to work at the Creation Museum or Answers Center as needed.
  • Available on Weekends and Evenings during events at the Answers Center & Creation Museum.
  • Able to stay calm under pressure.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Able to lift and move objects up to 50 Lbs.
  • Able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Work as a team member with the ministry's objective.
  • Able to multitask.
  • Mission focused and process driven.

Education & Experience

  • Leadership Experience or Comparable Education.
  • Professional event experience, preferably in a cultural or academic institution or in a work environment.
  • Knowledge of events and/or theatre industry a plus.
