Role Overview

As an Environment & Biodiversity Officer, you’ll play a key role in delivering our private adoption and biodiversity projects. You’ll be hands-on with site inspections, management plan reviews, and GISanalysis, while also preparing proposals and supporting project delivery through our CRM system.

You’ll work closely with the Director of Environment and Biodiversity to build and manage a growingpipeline of sites, contributing to SANG (Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace), BNG (Biodiversity Net Gain), and wider environmental initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to join us at a pivotal stage, helping to shape the future of land stewardship while developing your expertise in land, ecology or environmental management.

Responsibilities:

  • Management Plan Review: Review and interpret habitat and site management plans, ensuring they are robust and fit for purpose.
  • Site Visits & Measurements: Conduct site inspections to record key site information to support adoption and biodiversity outcomes.
  • Data & GIS Analysis: Collect, analyse, and present spatial data support site cost modelling and project delivery.
  • Fee Calculations & Proposals: Prepare adoption fee calculations and issue proposals to clients and stakeholders.
  • Project Tracking: Maintain accurate records of projects, proposals, and client interactions using Salesforce CRM.
  • Pipeline Support: Assist in sourcing and assessing potential sites for adoption and stewardship, contributing to the growth of our project pipeline.
  • Compliance & Delivery: Ensure projects meet biodiversity, ecological, and planning requirements, supporting delivery to high standards.
  • Reporting & Updates: Provide regular updates and reporting on site progress to the Director of Environment and Biodiversity.

Key Qualities:

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Conservation, Geography, Environmental Planning, or related field.
  • Organised and disciplined, able to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Confident working independently and taking initiative
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable carrying out site work and inspections
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Qualities:

  • GIS training and experience (QGIS, ArcGIS, or similar).
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems.
  • Experience in habitat management, ecology, or biodiversity projects.
  • Understanding of planning processes, SANG, or BNG.

Pay: £28,000-30,000
