Position Summary
 
The Consumer PR Manager, Media, Culture and Demand Generation, EMEA supports the Senior Director of Consumer PR and team in executing the overarching consumer PR strategy across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. This role is critical in securing press coverage, increasing share of voice against competitors, and positioning Marriott’s brand portfolio to drive topline revenue.

As the lead for Marriott Bonvoy’s EMEA Press Office, the Consumer PR Manager will manage incoming media requests, both directly and via agency partners, and lead PR for the company’s go-to-market strategies, turning these into compelling media narratives. This includes creating press materials for always-on news, such as demand generation pitches, newsletters, and press releases.

The role also leads media monitoring across PR in EMEA, ensuring tools and partners are used effectively to track, analyse, and showcase media results in a compelling way to stakeholders. Additionally, the Consumer PR Manager serves as the culture and trends lead, ensuring PR work remains timely and relevant to the cultural zeitgeist across EMEA markets.

This role collaborates closely with the EMEA Communications team, marketing and brand teams, and Marriott’s Global PR teams in the US to ensure consistent alignment of messaging and campaign execution across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement annual consumer PR plans in alignment with the Senior Director
  • Serve as the team’s culture specialist, tracking earned media and online trends
  • Oversee Demand Generation PR activities and manage the EMEA Monthly Newsletter
  • Lead the EMEA Press Office, ensuring timely responses and internal communication
  • Upload press releases to the Press Centre and educate media on Marriott’s brand portfolio
  • Report campaign results using approved tools and defined PR metrics
  • Create engaging press materials (e.g., releases, infographics, briefing packs, interviews)
  • Lead media monitoring and reporting, including use of AI tools and stakeholder reporting
  • Represent Consumer PR in webinars, meetings, and cross-functional project teams
  • Manage PR agency relationships across EMEA to ensure alignment and success
  • Collaborate with internal departments (Brand, Loyalty, Legal, Ops, etc.) to support PR programs
  • Manage budgets and scopes for PR initiatives, including PO creation and invoicing
  • Understand media landscapes across key EMEA markets
  • Organise and host press events, trips, and media tours
  • Set and track KPIs aligned with commercial goals
  • Provide crisis cover support approximately three weekends per year

 

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

  • 3 years experience in public relations experience, ideally in travel, hospitality, or lifestyle sectors
  • Journalism experience considered; hotel experience preferred
  • Experience managing budgets and multiple stakeholders
  • Experience working across multiple brands/projects
  • EMEA experience and language skills a plus
  • Media-focused mindset

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent written and spoken English (writing/proofreading is key)
  • Strong knowledge of brand PR, agency management, media relations, and press writing
  • Proven ability to build media relationships and secure coverage
  • Understanding of paid and earned influencer marketing
