AWS Solutions Architect (Remote)

We are looking for a hands-on AWS Solutions Architect to design, implement and administer our federal clients Enterprise infrastructure to leverage AWS cloud infrastructure. We are a small, solid group looking to speed up our migration to the latest AWS technologies.This individual will work to help design and implement an enterprise migration of infrastructure, applications, and databases to AWS cloud.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Design and implement strategy for migrating enterprise infrastructure, applications and databases from on-premises to cloud platform.
  • Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot infrastructure and systems across an AWS environment.
  • Support on premise RHEL/Solaris andAWS Cloud-hosted servers (including deployments, patches, security configurations, vulnerability remediation).
  • Perform operational and day-to-day administrative support functions, including troubleshooting issues and support of change and problem management processes.
  • Ensure solutions implemented support security, backup and recovery requirements. Work with SMEs and Security Team in defining secure-based cloud architecture
  • Collaborates with application development teams and other internal stakeholders to deliver high quality solutions
  • Serves as the expert that can dive in, analyze, and fix problems with AWS services
  • Participate in on-call Tier 3 rotation
  • Analyze business and technical requirements for network infrastructure and create design and implementation documents.
  • Build in depth work plans for all assignments (tasks, timelines, owners), provide detailed status updates and produce comprehensive project documentation.
  • Create Ansible playbooks to automate tasks, updates, and deployments.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (CSAA)Required
  • 5+ years of experience in Linux (Red Hat/Centos preferred) systems in an enterprise environment
  • 3+ years working with cloud admin experience: EC2, Cloud Formation, VPC, ELB, AWS Security, S3, RDS, EBS, ECS
  • Hands-on knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, LDAP, AD, DNS, SFTP and other basic protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools for automation (Ansible, etc) and building/automating CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Jira, etc)
  • Hands-on experience using Linux CLI, AWS console to perform a broad range of system administration, cloud migration and network security management tasks
  • Hands-on experience writing scripts to automate manual tasks and to streamline operational tasks.
  • Comfort and demonstrated ability to assess current client environments, make and implement recommends for leveraging AWS cloud infrastructure in a highly-cost effective manner.
  • Advanced understanding of Linux or Solaris including user, network, storage, memory, and security components
  • Experience with Windows Servers is required
  • Self-starter, highly motivated individual who adapts to a dynamic work environment
  • Strong attention to detail and communication capabilitieswith an ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to secure a NACI Public Trust
