Information</b></p><p></p><p><b>Basic Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Provide high-quality instruction, direction, and support for students in the online classroom environment.</li><li>Participate with the program faculty including planning development, and implementation of the program and curriculum.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Essential Duties:</b></p><p>Instructional Delivery:</p><ul><li>Facilitate online class sessions using appropriate technologies and platforms.</li><li>Engage in discussions, and moderate group activities to promote active learning.</li><li>Provide timely feedback and guidance to students on their coursework, discussions, and assessments.</li></ul><p>Student Engagement and Support:</p><ul><li>Foster a supportive and inclusive online learning environment conducive to academic success.</li><li>Encourage student participation in the interactive activities, discussions, and collaborative projects.</li><li>Respond promptly to student inquiries, concerns, and requests for assistance via email, discussion forums, or virtual office hours.</li><li>Conduct periodic synchronous interaction sessions.</li><li>Manage classes with a maximum capacity of approximately 22 students.</li><li>Organize students into groups for assignments and discussions.</li></ul><p>Assessment and Feedback:</p><ul><li>Evaluate student performance objectively and provide constructive feedback on assignments and assessments.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of student grades and progress, adhering to institutional policies and standards.</li><li>Enter final course grades after consultation with the lead faculty and/or Program director by EdD deadline.</li></ul><p>Communication and Collaboration:</p><ul><li>Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators using various communication channels, including email, messaging platforms, and online forums.</li><li>Collaborate with program coordinators, faculty mentors, and support staff to ensure a coordinated and cohesive learning experience for students.</li></ul><p>Adherence to Policies and Procedures:</p><ul><li>Adhere to institutional policies, procedures, and academic integrity standards outlined in Abilene Christian University’s Handbook, Faculty Guidelines, and those specified by ACU’s College of Educational Leadership.</li><li>Maintain confidentiality and respect student privacy in accordance with relevant regulations and guidelines.</li><li>Notify lead faculty and Program Director of any student concerns, including performance issues (e.g., failing grades, missed assignments) and policy violations (e.g., plagiarism).</li><li>Perform additional tasks as instructed by lead faculty and the program director.</li></ul><p>Continuous Improvement:</p><ul><li>Solicit feedback from students and colleagues to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the quality of instruction.</li><li>Reflect on teaching practices and experiences to refine instructional strategies and improve student learning outcomes.</li><li>Engage in self-assessment and seek opportunities for professional growth and development.</li><li>Provide feedback to the Program Director for program and/or course improvement.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Professional Development Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>Stay current with advances in the program field and best practices in online teaching and learning.</li><li>Engage in ongoing professional development activities, such as attending conferences, workshops, or webinars, professional reading, and active research.</li><li>Represent the university at conferences, as able and as directed by the Program Director.</li><li>Collaborate with colleagues and participate in departmental or institutional meetings as needed.</li></ul><p>Skills:</p><ul><li>Online Teaching Skills: Proficiency in online teaching methodologies, including the ability to engage students effectively through virtual platforms and create interactive learning experiences while maintaining academic and university standards at the doctoral level.</li><li>Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex ideas and facilitate discussions in an online environment.</li><li>Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with online learning management systems (LMS), video conferencing tools, and other educational technologies used in online teaching.</li><li>Adaptability: The ability to adapt teaching strategies and instructional materials to meet the needs of diverse learners and accommodate different learning styles in an online setting.</li><li>Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively plan and deliver course content, manage assignments, and provide timely feedback to students.</li><li>Collaboration: Willingness to collaborate with colleagues, program coordinators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive and coordinated learning experience for for performing job functions</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><p>Educational Background:</p><ul><li>A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.</li></ul><p>Teaching Experience:</p><ul><li>Experience teaching at the doctoral level, preferably in online or blended formats (preferred but not required).</li><li>Experience working with K-12 educational professionals, either as educators or administrators.</li></ul><p>Expertise in Educational Leadership:</p><ul><li>Knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of educational leadership, with a focus on K-12 settings.</li><li>Some experience in educational policy analysis, school improvement initiatives, strategic planning for educational organizations or other K-12 related experience.</li></ul><p>Online Teaching Experience (Preferred but not required):</p><ul><li>Proficiency in online teaching methodologies and instructional design principles.</li><li>Experience using learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies for online course delivery.</li></ul><p>Research and Scholarship:</p><ul><li>A record of scholarly publications or presentations in the field of educational leadership or related areas.</li><li>Experience conducting research and contributing to the advancement of knowledge in educational leadership theory and practice.</li></ul><p>Professional Experience:</p><ul><li>Significant professional experience in K-12 education, preferably in leadership or administrative roles.</li><li>Demonstrated leadership skills, such as team management, decision-making, and conflict resolution, relevant to the K-12 educational context.</li></ul><p>Certifications
